Frequently Asked Questions

What issues can counseling help with?
Counseling can support a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress, relationship challenges, identity exploration, trauma, and coping with life changes.

What can I expect in a session?
Each session is collaborative and tailored to your needs. We’ll explore your goals, challenges, and strengths while creating a safe, non-judgmental space. My approach is culturally informed, trauma-focused, and intersectional.

Are sessions virtual or in-person?
All sessions are conducted virtually through a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform, allowing you to access therapy from the comfort and privacy of your own space.

Who do you work with?
I primarily work with clients aged 13 and up who are seeking a compassionate, culturally informed space to explore emotional, relational, and identity-related concerns.

What should I do if I’m unsure counseling is right for me?
It’s completely normal to feel unsure. You can start with a brief call to see if we’re a good fit and discuss your needs before scheduling a full session.

How long does counseling take to see results?
Each person’s journey is unique. Some notice positive changes within a few sessions, while others may take longer. The focus is on growth, healing, and building coping skills at a pace that works for you.

Is counseling confidential?
Yes. All sessions are confidential, except in cases required by law (e.g., risk of harm to self or others).

How do I schedule a session?
You can reach out via email to schedule or use our online scheduling system to find a time that works for you.

What is your cancellation policy?
Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice for any cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations or missed appointments are subject to a late/no show fee of $95.

Do you provide insurance receipts?
I provide receipts/superbills that can be submitted to your insurance provider for reimbursement. Please check with your plan to confirm coverage details.
